UPDATE 28 MARTIE: În noaptea de duminică spre luni (27-28 martie), la teatrul Dolby din Los Angeles, a avut loc cea de-a 94-a ediție a premiilor Academiei Americane de Film, popular cunoscute sub denumirea de premiile Oscar. Gazdele serii au fost efervescentele Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes şi Regina Hall.

A 94-a ediție a Premiilor Oscar se apropie cu pași repezi, iar nominalizările deja au fost făcute publice marți, 8 februarie 2022, și includ filme dintr-o gamă largă de genuri.

Cele mai multe nominalizări, 12 la număr, le-a avut filmul "The Power of the Dog", o dramă în regia lui Jane Campion. Ea este și prima femeie care a intrat în istorie cu cel mai mare număr de nominalizări pentru titlul de „Cel mai bun regizor”. Regizoarea este cunoscută și pentru o altă dramă a sa, "The Piano" (1993).

Și regizorul Steven Spielberg a atins un nou record în acest an, după ce a ajuns să aibă în total 11 filme nominalizate la secțiunea „Cel mai bun film”. Muzicalul său romantic din 2021 "West Side Story" a primit, de asemenea, șapte nominalizări la Premiile Oscar din acest an.

Și cel mai nominalizat actor de culoare de la Oscar, Denzel Washington, a primit a zecea nominalizare pentru interpretarea din "The Tragedy of Macbeth", drama istorică în regia lui Joel Coen.
